Peek-A-Boo Pictures Traveling Studio

What to Expect on the Day of the Shoot

On the day of your in-home portrait session, Dana will arrive and set up her studio in the most suitable room in your home. Space, your preference and natural light (which takes an amazing picture) will be taken into consideration. She will then interact with the child and get an idea of their comfort level and personality before even taking out a camera. Once the perfect level of confidence between she and your child is achieved she will gently encourage them to the studio.

Though all the funny lights and umbrellas can be overwhelming at first, most children soon find interest in being the center of attention. Dana will pose your child in several ways that will be least obtrusive to the moment and the rest of the shots will be candid.

Each session Dana does is different, as no two children are alike, not all sessions will be cookie cutter molds of the last. Each session is based on the personality and mood of the child and your own personal preferences. Please understand a shy, quiet child will have a more subdued session than the energetic, easily excited child.

Expect a typical session to run about two hours, though more or less time may be needed. Also have ready any outfits or items you will want to use in your shoot so that pictures can be taken efficiently and with as little interruptions as possible. Also try to limit the audience, as children are easily distracted and too many cooks will spoil the soup, so to speak.

Location shoots are basically the same, with you and Dana meeting at the destination, there is minimal set up and the same observation and interaction period can be expected.

Remember, suggestions are always welcome, so feel free to express your interests and expectations prior to the event so that Dana may prepare accordingly. Most of all enjoy the experience as children and all their moments grow quickly and it is always fun to look back at your photo session and remember the fun you shared that day.
